FAQ

Short answers about how ivault works right now. For deeper detail, see How it works and Trust & safety.

What is ivault?

ivault is a neighbourhood marketplace where people list items to buy, rent, swap or give away. You browse nearby offers, send a request, and usually meet locally to complete the deal.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. You can browse listings without signing in. Requesting an item, messaging, favourites, listing something yourself and wallet features require an account.

How do I rent something?

Find a rental listing, sign in, send a request with the dates you need, then message the owner to agree pickup and return. Hand-off happens in person.

How do I list or lend an item?

Sign in, open list an item, add photos and terms (rent, sale, swap or free), then publish. You review requests in the app and arrange the hand-over with the other member.

How do payments work?

Payment options depend on the listing and what is enabled (for example card where available, tokens, or a transfer you arrange with the other party). ivault does not currently hold marketplace payments in a general escrow or hold-and-release balance.

Are there refunds or purchase guarantees?

There is no platform-wide purchase guarantee or automatic refund product today. Resolve payment and return issues directly with the other member, and use in-app reporting tools if something goes wrong.

What does the KYC badge mean?

Optional identity verification (KYC) lets a member show a verified badge on their profile and listings. It is not required to browse, and it is not a guarantee that every deal will go smoothly.

Is my exact address shown on listings?

No. Public listing locations are shown as approximate areas. Exact coordinates are not exposed on public pages.

How do I get help?

Start with this FAQ, Trust & safety, and the legal pages. For problems with a deal, message the other member in the app or use reporting. For formal company details, see the Imprint page.
